Joe A. Bass Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:
First year IMGP doctoral students who have completed
the Fundamentals of Biomedical Sciences course
INTD 5000
Criteria:
Students who have earned a 90 average or above for
each module of the INTD 5000 course; transcripts
and letters of recommendation from the supervising
professor will be required
Award Year and Amount: Annually, $400-$800
Designated Tuition Scholarship
Eligibility:
All doctoral or masters students who demonstrate
financial need by completing the FAFSA
application and are Texas residents.
Criteria:
Must demonstrate academic excellence and submit transcripts,
CV and letters of recommendation from supervising
professor, COGS chair and 1 additional faculty
mentor
Award Year and Amount: Annually, $1,000-$2,000
The Council for Excellence in Womens Health
Eligibility:
All GSBS doctoral students conducting research related
to womens health and demonstrate financial
need by completing the FAFSA
application.
Criteria:
Must demonstrate academic excellence and submit transcripts,
CV, essay outlining leadership qualities, service
and future goals
Award Year and Amount: Annually, $2,000
Womens Faculty Association Leadership Award
Eligibility:
Female GSBS doctoral student graduating May of each
year
Criteria:
Must demonstrate academic excellence and submit transcripts,
CV and letters of recommendation from supervising
professor, COGS chair and 1 additional faculty
mentor, and personal statement
Award Year and Amount: Annually, $100
Armand J. Guarino Award for Academic Excellence
Eligibility:
Graduating doctoral and masters students nominated
by Chair of COGS of each department
Criteria:
Must demonstrate academic excellence and submit transcripts,
CV and letters of recommendation, reprints of
published papers
Award Year and Amount: Annually, $1,000 for MS and $1,500 for PhD
Phyllis & Neil Bowie Student Community Service Award
Eligibility:
All GSBS third year or above doctoral students
Criteria:
Must demonstrate community service through volunteer
activities in S.A. and prepare a written description
of community activities plus a transcript, CV
and letters of recommendation from supervising
professor
Award Year and Amount: Spring 2012, $200-$500
Sjoerd Steunebrink Scholarship Endowment
Eligibility:
All GSBS doctoral or masters students who demonstrate
financial need by completing the FAFSA
application.

Eligibility:
All GSBS doctoral or masters students with preference
given to students from Gillespie county, TX and
then students who attended Texas A&M University.
