Outreach Opportunities

The Office of Career Development supports and encourages the science outreach efforts of our trainees.  Below are a list of current science outreach opportunities.  Please contact the office at for more details.

Current Outreach Efforts:

Trainee Initiative on Science Outreach and Communication (TISOC)

This initiative is seeking trainees who are passionate about broadening their engagement through the communication of science to alternative audiences. Trainees who take advantage of this opportunity will engage in local science outreach efforts, work closely with K-12 audiences (teachers and students) to organize and execute science caf├ęs across San Antonio, support existing UT Health Science Center's outreach programs, and develop new programs for science outreach and communication.

The focused mission of this initiative is to provide dynamic, engaging, and facilitated discussions designed to promote scientific career building skills and mentoring relationships. The knowledge gained from this peer-to-peer learning experience will improve your scientific communication skills and enhance your teaching and mentoring portfolio.
