Dr. Paula Shireman's research team focuses on health care delivery and developing sustainable, patient-centered care pathways. We use frailty, functional status and social risk factors to develop predictive models of outcomes in surgery patients. We incorporate simulation and economic analysis into care pathway design using medical informatics, natural language processing and US Census Bureau data to influence local care and national policies.
