Jannine Cody, PhD is the Director of the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center. Her life and career changed after her daughter was diagnosed with a chromosome 18 abnormality. She received her PhD in genetics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is active in the world of advocacy and was awarded the Founder's Service Award by the Genetic Alliance in 2008. The Research Center is the only one of its kind, the world-wide resource for research, medical guidance, and family education regarding these conditions. The approach and structure of the Research Center is also unique and can serve as a model for other rare complex conditions.
