Dr. Nikita Gamper is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience within the University of Leeds School of Biomedical Sciences. From 2001 to 2005, Dr. Gamper researched as a postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Shapiro here at the UT Health Science Center! Dr. Gamper is scheduled to present a seminar on November 24, 2014, at 12:00 pm in lecture hall 309L. His research focuses on the plasma membrane of cells, specifically the ion channels that regulate cellular excitability. Ultimately, Dr. Gamper’s research group is investigating how regulatory dysfunctions in ion channels effects peripheral pain-sensing neurons.
