Representatives from the U.S. Patent and Trade Office will be highlighted in this year’s Innovation Forum, October 29, 2014.

We are very excited to announce that on October 29, 2014 in MED 409L from 3pm - 4pm two distinguished members of the U.S. Patent and Trade Office will be visiting and presenting on our campus. Tanaga A. Boozer and Michael Razavi have many years of experience in the field of intellectual property and the development of invention programs for inventors of all ages and education levels. As Program Advisor in the Office of Education and Outreach, Tanaga Boozer directs and coordinates intellectual property (IP) educational outreach programs and partnerships with external organizations, academic institutions, and federal agencies. Ms. Boozer conducts invention education and professional development seminars for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) teachers and administrators to encourage integrating invention and innovation principles into the curriculum. She also develops and implements new educational programs in conformance with the policies, mission, and goals of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Michael Razavi has served the USPTO for over 29 years in a wide variety of capacities. Currently he is Outreach Educator and Advisor to the Office of Innovation Development. Previously, Mr. Razavi led numerous projects and initiatives with foreign patent offices and embassies as well as U.S. businesses, universities, and federal government agencies, including the Office of Personnel Management, Census Bureau, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Treasury, and the Department of Commerce. Within the USPTO, he has worked closely with the Offices of the Under Secretary, Policy and International Affairs, and the Commissioner for Patents.
