The Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies was featured for winning two prestigious grants on mySA in addition to coverage from KENS 5 on aging research. Congratulations for these wonderful achievements!

Two prestigious grants have been awarded to the Barshop Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to support its research into the biology of aging. The institute is the only one in the nation this year to win two prestigious grants supporting research into the biology of aging.

KENS 5

Dr. Alfred Fisher and Dr. Dean Kellogg were featured in KENS 5 & Kens5.com report about The Barshop Institute's research on ‪aging‬. 

The research is on a drug called rapamycin, which has appeared to slow the aging process.

It is now being tested on eight people in the San Antonio area.
