Dr. Sweta Mishra’s first author paper in Cell

Congratulations to one of our  Cellular and Structural Biology graduate program alum, Dr. Sweta Mishra whose first author paper ("Cross-talk between Lysine-Modifying Enzymes Controls Site-Specific DNA Amplifications") has just been published online in Cell

The paper, which will be published in print on 09 August will be featured on the cover of that issue of Cell and will be accompanied by a video abstract. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Johnathan Whetstine, Tepper Family Massachussetts General Hospital (MGH) Research Scholar at MGH Cancer Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Sweta who was in the CMM track in LuZhe Sun’s lab, graduated with her PhD degree in August 2014. While in our program, in 2011 she was the first recipient of the department’s Rennels Memorial Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies, which recognizes an academically outstanding graduate student halfway through their tenure in graduate school. Amongst her other accolades, Sweta also received a Translational Science Training (TST) Scholar Award from the IIMS in 2011. 

Since being in Dr Whetstine’s lab at MGH, Sweta has also successfully competed for a Senior Research Training Fellowship Award from the American Lung Association (ALA) in 2015 and was featured in a video by the ALA.
