Each year, we honor a graduate of our program as the Distinguished C&SB Alumnus. I am pleased to announce that Laura A. Cox, PhD is the 2014 Distinguished C&SB Alumnus and she is the invited speaker for the C&SB departmental seminar this coming Tuesday, October, 14 (11a.m. in MED 209L). Dr. Cox, who graduated with her PhD degree from UTHSCSA in 1993, is a very successful NIH-funded geneticist. She is currently Scientist & Vice-Chair, Department of Genetics as well as Core Scientist, Southwest National Primate Research Center at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute here in San Antonio. She is also an Adjunct Professor, Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Research in the Department of Ob-Gyn at UTHSCSA.
